Durban-based Amazulu FC holds Kaiser Chiefs to a surprise 1-1 draw in the MTN 8 semifinals’ first leg.
Kaizer Chiefs dominated after conceding early at home against AmaZulu in the first leg of their MTN 8 semifinal clash on Sunday, but Amakhosi could only muster one goal in response as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Gabadinho Mhango struck early in the 13th minute to give the visitors the lead before Usuthu held on for dear life as the hosts sent wave after wave of attacks towards the AmaZulu goal.
Despite restricting their opponents to zero shots in the second half, Chiefs’ dominance only resulted in a leveler from Keagan Dolly.
However, Amazulu will take a road goal back to Durban for the second leg later in October.
