The Member of Parliament of Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency, Hon Alfred Obeng Boateng, has dared his predecessor, Hon Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu, to contest him in the next NPP’s Parliamentary Primaries.
The legislature of the constituency, in the 2020 NPP primaries’, defeated Hon Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu, the then Member of Parliament of the area, with a huge margin to end his eight years run.
To interest you, there is a debate on a WhatsApp group named “Western North Dev’t Association” between Hon Alfred Obeng Boateng and Hon Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu on the development of the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality.

On this, the Member of Parliament accused his predecessor of spending a vast amount to see him disqualified during their vetting in 2020.
“How can a poor man spend Ghc 600,000.00 to get his opponent disqualified” Hon Alfred Obeng Boateng tagged Hon Aboagye Gyadu’s comment.

Hon. Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu said he was not interested in his disqualification but asked the legislature why he blew cash to overturn his ineligibility.
“Is that the extent to which you were deceived? If I had Ghc 600,000.00, I wouldn’t spend it on a such venture. Is that why you also spent Ghc 1,000,000.00 to get your disqualification reversed? To the extent that you forgot your bag at the interview in Accra? Then, I’m sorry, I didn’t have that much to spend on a such venture,”
Following the debate, the Member of Parliament of the area has challenged the former legislature to contest him in their next internal elections.
“I’m inviting you to the contest. If you get 30%, I will step down for you to go,” Hon Alfred Obeng Boateng replied to Hon Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu.
