Award-winning sports presenter Desmond Agyemang Koranteng, widely known as Daakyehene Dr Rock, made history at the 2022 Ghana Media Personality Awards as he beat industry giants to win the ‘Radio sports show host of the year’.
The host of Best Fm Sports was honoured at the annual event which recognises and awards radio and television personalities in Ghana.
Dr Rock fended off competition from other industry giants including Adom Fm’s Kobby Stone, King Eben of Wotumi Fm, Bright Kankam Boadu of Pure Fm, Asempa Fm’s Kojo Mensah Moshosho and Wallace, and others to win the category.
In the year 2021, Dr Rock won the ‘National Sports Show Presenter of the Year’ and ‘Sports Show Host of the Year’, an award organised by the 5-star Channel Awards.
Speaking to Adolfmedia.com, Dr. Rock expressed his gratitude to everyone who had helped advance his professional career, highlighting the media companies he had spent his entire career working for.
He stated, “Today, God has revealed his glory. I’m incredibly appreciative of all the media outlets that have given me a platform,”
The speaker then singled out The Orange Family (Best FM) for special praise. “it was a lovely time with you, enough room and I am sure that is what got me this,”
In his life, Dr. Rock continued, “God is about to do tremendous things,” and it is a “new beginning,”
He has received 20 accolades in the last three years, the most recent being the 2022 ‘Radio sports show host of the year’ from the Ghana Media Personality Award.
