President of Wassa Hemaa Foundation, Hon Barbara Oteng Gyasi, has supported youths in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality with sewing machines and a Hairdryer to undertake skills training.
The Former Member of Parliament for the area also presented cash to support the young entrepreneurs.
On November 22, 2022, Hon Barbara Oteng Gyasi supported Portia Brown and Stephanie Arthur from Amoanda with one sewing machine each and Stella Graham from Damang with a Hairdryer and amount of money to rent a shop to start her business.
The support is part of Hon. Barbara Oteng Gyasi’s vision is to encourage and assist youth in acquiring entrepreneurial skills through apprenticeship programmes.

At the 2020 Graduation by the Huni Valley arm of the Ghana Hairdressers And Beauticians Association (GHABA), a total of 14 comprising five hairdressers and nine dressmakers who graduated (out of the 30 youth-fully sponsored Wassa Hemaa Foundation) received a dryer and one thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC1,000) each for the Hairdressers.
Likewise, the Nine dressmakers received an industrial Machine each to facilitate the setting up of a business enterprise.
It’s equally worth stating that during her tenure as the Legislator, the Municipality benefited from a Skills Training Center (a World Bank-funded project), which is progressing steadily at Huni-Valley.
Also, a State of the Art TVET school was awarded for construction around Samahu by the Ghana Government, and Skills Training Centre under construction at Wassa Nkran is funded by the Wassa Hemaa Foundation.
