Africans’ most popular Coach Pitso Mosimane recorded his first victory with Al Ahli Jeddah today as they came from behind to beat Najran FC by 2-1 at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in the Saudi Arabia Division One League.
Pitso, who drew his first game in charge as Al Ahli Manager at home, needed victory to boost his chances of qualifying the team to the prestigious Saudi Arabia Premier League.
21-year-old Brazilian striker Coutinho of Najran FC broke the virginity of the game when he capitalizes on a Defensive blunder to fire home the first goal of the game in the 45th minute.
Saudi Arabian Abdullah Al- Mogren restored parity for Mosimane men when he scored from a close range nine minutes (54th minute) after recess.
As Al Ahli was heading towards their second consecutive home draw, Abdullah Al-Mogren rises to the occasion again by scoring the all-important winning goal for Ahli and his second goal of the game in the 90th minute.
Mosimane’s men now sit 4th on the league table with 12 points after seven matches in the Saudi Arabia Division One League, three points away from leaders Al Akhdoud with 15 points.
Al Hazem sits second on the league log with 14 points whiles Al – Faisaly is third with 13 points and an outstanding league game.
Four teams will progress to the Saudi Arabia Premier League after the 30th week of matches.
