Chairman of the Shamaa District Football Association, Professor George Kuntu Blankson, will honour a National Team coach from the Western region.
Kobby Mensah, the former Samatex coach who now spearheads the affairs of the Aiyinase-based club Karela United, is set to be honoured by the Iconic Sports Broadcaster Professor George Kuntu Blankson.
The gaffer guided Karela to occupy 4th position in last season’s Ghana Premier League and accumulated 52 points from 34 games (13 wins,13 draws, eight defeats).
Karela was 15 points behind the league winners (Asante Kotoko 67), 4 points behind the runner-up, Medeama (56) and just 2 points behind the second runner-up, Bechem United (54).
Aside from his domestic enviable performance for the club, the young tactician who doubles as assistant coach to Annor Walker helped the Black Galaxies to qualify at the expense of the Super Eagles of Nigeria (CHAN team) in Abuja on penalties.
Kobby Mensah’s Karela United is currently 4th in the ongoing Betpawa Premier League with 6 points (two wins, one defeat) after three matches.
As part of Kuntu Blankson Sports Foundation’s vision, Coach Bismarck Kobby Mensah will be awarded the Premier League Coach of the year (Karela) and National Team Coach of the year (Black Galaxies) in the Western region.
