In light of reports suggesting that Premier League powerhouse Liverpool would sign star midfielder Ibrahim Adel, Pyramids FC have spoken out.
Liverpool is reportedly interested in signing Adel during the January transfer window, according to a report from 90min.
Adel’s talent was first brought to Liverpool officials’ attention by Mohamed Salah, although club scouts were previously aware of his potential, according to the source.
They further assert that the 21-year-old progress is being monitored by Arsenal, Brentford, Brighton, and newly promoted Nottingham Forest.
Mahmoud Fathallah, the director of football of Pyramids FC, has voiced his excitement over Liverpool’s interest despite insisting the rumours are just that.
“Ibrahim Adel is a tremendous talent for us and Egyptian soccer,” Mahmoud Fathallah stated.
He continued, “The rumours about Liverpool’s interest in him are good, but nothing official has happened relating to the topic,”
Before joining Pyramids in February 2018 and being promoted to the first squad a year later, Adel attended El-Mareekh Academy.
In the following two years, he became a crucial member of Pyramids’ first squad, contributing to his team’s success as they advanced to the CAF Confederation Cup final in 2020.
The 21-year-old helped Pyramids achieve their first-ever second-place finish in the Egyptian Premier League last year by scoring six goals and dishing out four assists.
Adel has made four appearances for the Egyptian national team after making his debut in September 2021.
Meanwhile, Leaders of the Danish Superliga, FC Nordsjaelland, claimed to have made an official offer of €2 million for Ibrahim Adel weeks prior, but Pyramids did not find it acceptable.
To put a stop to rumours about his future, Adel signed a new contract with Pyramids last month that will keep him at the club through the summer of 2026.
