Tanzania champions Young Africans has defeated Ruvu Shooting stars by 2-1 in a local derby game held at Nyaho sports stadium this afternoon in the 6th week of the Tanzania premier league.
The win takes them to the top of the league table with their bitterest rivals Simba SC with 13 points each.
Young Africans dominated play right from the commencement of the game but failed to find the back of the net in the first half of the game.
Feisal Salum finally broke the deadlock in the 51st minute after pouncing on a nice assist from Mutambala Lumalisa for the young Africans.
Nwamnyeto Bukari doubled the lead for the visitors in the 71st minute with an assist from Dickson Ambundo.
Msonjo Rolland pulled one back for the home side but could not find the equalizer.
Young Africans have now gone 20 matches unbeaten in both local and African competitions winning 14 matches and drawing 6.
Young Africans will host Sudan champions Al Hilal in the CAF Champions League over the weekend.
