On Tuesday, July 26, 2022, the Western North Regional Coordinating Council organized its first staff durbar for the year. This remarkable event was held at the Conference Hall of the Regional Coordinating Council, Sefwi Wiawso.
The purpose of the staff durbar was to officially introduce the newly posted Chief Director, Mr. Ebenezer Amoah, who has been posted to the Coordinating Council and also create an avenue for staff to interact with the Minister and management to address key issues bothering the office and also find lasting solutions to such concerns to enhance service delivery and the welfare of staff.

The Regional Minister, Hon. Richard Ebbah Obeng before his brief speech asked all present to stand and observe a minute silence in remembrance of the late Hon. Alfred Amoah, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani – Anhwiaso – Bekwai, and his driver, Mr Samuel Gyasi, lost their lives in a fatal accident at Apendwa in the Eastern Region while returning from Accra.
He further mentioned the preparation made by the RCC towards the one-week celebration of the late Hon. Alfred Amoah and his driver, Mr Samul Gyasi, as customs and tradition demand.
He added that the Municipal Chief Executive officer (MCE) for Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly, Hon Louis Owusu Agyepong, has been appointed by the region to liaise with the bereaved families as they prepare to give them a final resting place.
In his speech, he commended staff for their commitment to duty over the years and charged all to remain dedicated and also go the extra mile in discharging their duties.
He further admonished staff to put in their best to support the newly posted Chief Director as he was officially outdoor him to the staff.

Mr. Ebenezer Amoah, in his response, thanked the Regional Minister for accepting to work with him and pledged his support to achieve greater heights with the Coordinating Council for the betterment of the region.
In a short speech, he cautioned staff not to take him for granted because of his height, but his work will prove otherwise. He said punctuality to work would be a key area he will monitor to enhance better service delivery and that officers, who absent themselves without permission will be queried and sanctioned.
Also, he implored staff to always work with the protocols of the Local Government Service and other related codes of conduct. In addition, he advised them to move away from partisan politics and always be guided by the oath of secrecy as staff of Local Government and Civil Service.
Again, he encouraged staff to inculcate the habit of report writing after activities or programs are done.

During the open forum, the staff had the opportunity to ask questions, some of which boarded on their work and general condition of service.
The Regional Minister, with assistance from Chief Director and other management members, responded to some of the questions, while others were referred to the heads of the various departments for immediate solutions towards the effective functioning of the secretariat of the Regional Coordinating Council.
