The Youth Employment Agency has employed over 150 youths under the Community Health Worker (CHW), module in the Western North region.

The beneficiaries would for the first time get a monthly allowance of GHC500, an increase from the GHC250 that their preceding cohorts received.

The YEA’s CHW module selects, trains, and places young people from various communities to work in specific districts, sub-districts, and villages around the country to assist community health officers, nurses, and midwives in providing health services, notably in the areas of health promotion, disease surveillance, and disease prevention.

The current CHW module, created in partnership with the Ghana Health Service, is an improved version of earlier ones with a new emphasis on enhancing beneficiaries’ impacts on their communities, enhancing citizens’ well-being, and, most importantly, making a significant contribution to assisting beneficiaries in identifying their career paths.
